Break and Breathe

Deep breath. Spring break has arrived.

For those of you who don't get a spring break as part of your working year, my apologies. Spring break offers a much longed-for reprieve from what has been a chaotic semester. As an added bonus, this week brings weather predicted to be sunny and in the 50s. For those of you in warmer climes, 50 degrees coming off of a Minnesota winter is sub-tropical. Some spring breaks bring snow emergencies.

So what are my plans for spring break? Sleep. Read. Write. Repeat as needed.

  1. heehee, so it's really late at night and i was reading through your most recent post, but I'm having a hard time concentrating on anything but Fizzgig......Fizzgig! My most concrete memory of Fizzgig is her/his completely detachable jaw.....s/he could open her/his mouth to create 180 degrees of maw....and it was glorious. While writing this, I decided to try to find a picture of said creature, and upon finding one with mouth agape, I learned the Fizzgig has an extra set of teeth (yes, shark-like) behind her/his initial row. Impressive. I think that there is an important reason that the word "agape" can refer to a completely open maw in addition to unselfish love of others....that reason is Fizzgig.

  2. Great post, G! Life is not complete without a Fizzgig and accompanying agape.
